Tokenworks

Share-Safe Photo Check

About this tool

Your photo can say where you were, and a face or number plate can say who. Check it here before you share: the photo stays on your device and nothing is uploaded. Tokenworks made this tool.

How to use

  1. Drop a photo (JPEG, PNG or WebP) or pick one, or try the fictional sample photo.
  2. Read what it reveals, such as location, camera and date, then draw a box or brush over faces, number plates or screens to blur or cover them.
  3. Download the clean copy. Metadata is removed and the tool re-checks the result for you.

FAQ

Is my photo uploaded anywhere?

No. The photo is read and edited in your browser. There are no accounts and no tracking cookies, and you can confirm in your browser's network tab that no file is sent.

What can a photo reveal besides faces?

Photos can carry hidden metadata such as GPS location, camera model, date and time, and editing software. PNG files can also hold text notes. The tool lists what it finds in plain language.

Is the blur really removing the detail?

Yes. The blur or cover changes the actual pixels in the saved copy. It is not a layer placed on top that someone could remove later.

Does this make me GDPR compliant?

Not by itself. It helps you avoid sharing hidden location data and identifiable details. If you share photos of other people for business, check the rules with your data protection authority.
